Façade Design for Effective Thermal Performance: Addressing New Code Requirements & Options to Meet ASHRAE e90.1 Standards

An industry dilemma was created when building codes changed. Attaining sustainable results through traditional technologies is difficult and misguided.

An industry dilemma was created when building codes changed. Attaining sustainable results through traditional technologies is difficult and misguided. The building code changes specify higher effective R values, replacing R value with effective R value, and setting different levels of performance based on geographic location. To attain an effective R value, one must consider the effects of thermal bridges of studs, girts, window frames, etc. Through this seminar, you will learn a greater understanding of new codes, what is effective R value, how to reach it, and how to design a thermally broken façade.
