Recent revisions to the Building Code and to energy efficiency standards such as ASHRAE 90.1 have explicitly called out requirements for features like Continuous Insulation, Air Barriers, Vapour Barriers, Water Resistive Barriers, Rain Screens and other methods of moisture control to be incorporated into building designs. Can materials provide duplicate functions? Do the strategies change in existing buildings versus new? Starting from Building Code requirements, this session will focus on simplifying construction details to address requirements in a cost-effective and thermally-effective solutions for a variety of common detailing issues.
